Thomas Wesley Witherspoon
(b.1787) and
Margaret
"Peggy" Rankin.
Miles was born 13 Mar 1817 at the home of his parents in Lincoln/Catawba County, NC,
and was named after his mother's maiden name.

Miles and Sarah's marriage bond. Emanuel was Sarah's younger brother

On 24 Apr 1848, Jacob Setzer deeded to
Milas a tract of land containing 32 1/2 acres on Hagan's Fork,
"... on Robinson's line ... to a hickory sapling near H. B.
Witherspoon's corner ... to a hickory near said Milas
Witherspoon's tan yard." The price was $90.00 (Deed
Book 3, page 402). |

Lincoln County, NC, Sally "Sarah" Aderholdt Witherspoon,
daughter, was willed 2 beds and bedspreads, one table, one
bureau, 2 cows, 1 yearling and a variety of kitchen furniture.
