Died: 26 Nov 1941Leander Denford Lutz Witherspoon was the eighth child born to Miles Rankin Witherspoon and Sarah "Sallie" Elizabeth Aderholdt. Denford, or "Dense", was born 11 Nov 1861 in Catawba County, NC.
Dense married Lydia Hawn (b. 1866), a daughter of Abner Hawn. He lived at the family home place near Witherspoons Cross-Roads, southeast of Newton, NC. The family cemetery is across the street from the original site of the family home.
