John Hart Witherspoon   Born: 02 Jan 1850, Catawba County, NC Died:  31 May 1924   John Hart Witherspoon was the third child born to Miles Rankin Witherspoon and Sarah "Sallie" Elizabeth Aderholdt.  John Hart was born 02 Jan 1850 in Catawba County, NC.   John Hart married Mary Elizabeth Carpenter.  Mary was born 14 May 1852.        John Hart Witherspoon and Mary Elizabeth Carpenter's children were: Name Birth Date Death Date Spouse William Thomas Witherspoon 13 Dec 1874 17 Apr 1941 Catherine Rudisill David Miles Witherspoon 10 Nov 1876 1973 Nora Sipe Charlie Witherspoon 1879 1956 Ina Mauney Moses L. Witherspoon 28 Aug 1881 10 Jul 1949   Minnie Witherspoon 1884   L. A. Anthony Ocie Witherspoon     J. W. Blackwelder Dorcus Witherspoon 01 Feb 1887 17 Feb 1921 Blanch Mauney Emmett E. Witherspoon 1888 1973 (1) Katherine Younce (2) Mary A. Matthews Jacob Witherspoon 1891           Mary Elizabeth Carpenter Witherspoon died 24 Dec 1917.  John Hart Witherspoon died 31 May 1924.  Both are buried in the cemetery of Shady Grove Baptist Church in Cherryville, NC.                                     The Descendants of John Witherspoon (b. 1650, SCOTLAND)     Compiled by H.
