The Faber Family

Our Faber ancestors came from Germany. Bavaria, Germany is the ancestral home of the Faber family. The Germans began using hereditary surnames in the 12th century. Faber is an occupational name, which was derived from the kind of work done by the original bearer. It is a name for a craftsman or artisan. First found in Modena, anciently Mutina, a city in Emilia capital of the province of Modena. Maria Magdalena Faber married Johannes Miller in 1746. The Faber & Miller line eventually connects with the Goble line.
