For some of you, this might be your first time to visit our
family genealogy website. For other, you may have been here many
times before. Regardless, since this website has over 700 pages,
and about 50 different family name. This page is my attempt to
keep up with recent updates throughout the year. I will continue
to try and keep the family apprised of deaths in
the family, therefore I always welcome your emails or phone
calls informing me when there has been a death in the family.
Thanks. -Curtis- |

her sister had found in an antique store and wanted to send it
to someone in the Loftin family. After finding my website, she
decided to send it to me. I was appreciative. When I get a
chance, I'll scan the photos and share them. You can contact her

6. I've been busy this month updating Curtis
Loftin Family Vacations photos. We've visited Disney World in
Orlando, FL, numerous times over the years and the photos are
wonderful. I thought my children and grandchildren would enjoy
these. I'm currently working on
Epcot's World Showcase 1996, 1997 & 2000 and the pavilions of
the various countries there. Check it out. I created a new
vacation page called
Disney World's EPCOT 1996, 1997 & 2000 with photos from our
various trips over the year. There is also
Disney/MGM Studios 1996, 1997 & 2000,
Magic Kingdom 1996, 1997 & 2000, and
Resorts 1996, 1997 & 2000. |

7. Carolyn & I took our last trip to Disney
World in 2015. I've created new pages to showcase photos from
the trip. They include
Dixie Landings,
EPCOT,
Disney Studios,
Animal Kingdom and
Magic Kingdom. Be sure to check them out. |

2. I added an newspaper article from 19 March
1987's HICKORY DAILY RECORD titled "Young
and Old Follow Bandys' Basketball". The article talks about
J.C.
Goble and his love for sports, especially
basketball at Bandys High School. J.C., age 70
at the time, could frequently be seen walking to the school on
nights when there was a basketball game. Other names mentioned
in the article are G.C. (Glenn Clustus) Lee, as
well as Brian & Lisa Martin Harvey.
Glenn Clustus Lee was the husband of
Sallie Allie Loftin Lee and the grandfather of
Lisa Martin. The article can be seen on
J.C. Goble's
page as well as the page for
Sallie Allie Loftin Lee. |
|
3. I updated the page for
Allie
Loftin Lee. With the death of Louise Lee
Hoyle (d. 10 Mar 2020), Marcella Lee Wike
(d. 25 Dec 2020) and Doug Bumgarner (d. 02 Jan
2021), it was a good time for me to re-visit the page and update
information. I added the death dates for Louise and Marcella to
the chart showing Allie & Glenn's children. I also added new
photos of Allie, Glenn & their children - including a photo from
Allie & Glenn's 50th Anniversary with all the kids. Check it
out. |

* Willie
Thelma Loftin and Callie Elma Loftin were twins - born
on 31 May 1911 in Catawba County, North Carolina. |
**Daisy
Pearl Loftin and "Infant Son 2" Were twins - born on 06
Jun 1914. "Infant Son 2" only lived a few days before
his death. |
***
The Catawba County Birth Index for this child, "Infant
Son 33, shows that
he was born 22 Oct 1922 (the same day and month as his
older brother Oscar). This child's Death
Certificate shows that he died 27 Oct 1922 and that he
lived for 1 day and 2 hours - so it's more likely that
the child was born on 26 Oct 1922 - instead of 22 Oct
1922 as the Birth Index shows. Cause of death was
"malformation of upper air passage". |
****
It's possible that this last "Infant Son" of Alonzo and
Ida was born in 1927. It is also possible that the
grave marker for this "Infant Son" born in 1928 was
incorrectly dated and should have been for the 1922
"Infant Son". |
