The Robinson Family
Name Origin: ENGLAND The surname Robinson originates in England and more specifically from Anglo-Saxon origin. The name is derived from the name "Robin", which was a shortened form of the name Robert. The name means, "a son of Robin" or "a son of Robert".
The Robinson Family of eastern Catawba County are the descendants of Isaac Robinson. The first written record of this Robinson family was written by W. A. Day, a great-grandson of Isaac Robinson. In 1990, Marie Beatty, Pauline Gilleland Drum and Shirley V. Beatty wrote a book on the Catawba County Robinson Family entitled "Through The Years With Jane And John Robinson".
