Lillie May Loftin was the first child born to Thomas Smith Loftin (b.1863) and Mary Jane Hartline.  Lillie was born 19 Feb 1887 in Iredell County, NC.

The 1900 Iredell County Census shows the Thomas Loftin family living in Fallstown Township.  The census lists Thomas & Mary Jane's children as: Lillie M., Thomas P., Grover E., Stokes M., David M., Foy T., and Mary E.  Lillie's birthday is listed as Feb 1887 and her age as 13.

Lillie married William Weldon Brown.  William was born 06 May 1873 in Alexander County, NC.  He was the son of Noah A. Brown and Jane Barnes, also of Alexander County, NC.  They were married in the family home near East Monbo.
 
William (Weldon) was employed at the Troutman Chair company.
 
 
There were no children, however, they received William Halton Loftin when he was about 6 months old and raised him as their son.
 
 
 
 
 
William died 05 May 1952, the day before his 79th birthday in Troutman, Fallstown Township, Iredell County, NC as a result of a heart attack.  He was buried at the Troutman Methodist Church Cemetery in Troutman, NC.

Lillie died 20 Dec 1974 at Davis Hospital in Statesville, NC, from pancreatic cancer.  She was 87 years old.
