Curtis turned 60 in May 2013 so Carolyn
decided to throw him a surprise birthday party at Covenant Bible
Church. Curtis and Carolyn were already suppose to be at
the church because of the Israeli Folk Dance they taught, so
that made getting Curtis to the church a lot easier.
Sheryl Long, Covenant Church Secretary, came to the Family Life
Center to let Curtis know that he had a phone call on the phone
in the church offices. While Curtis and Sheryl walked to
the main building and the offices, Carolyn, the dancers, and
many other friends relocated to the party location. As
Curtis finished his phone call and started to walk back to the
Family Life Center, Sheryl said, "Let's cut through this
classroom, it's a lot shorter". When Curtis opened the
door everyone said, "SURPRISE!" - much to his surprise!

The entire southeastern part of the US got one of its largest
snow storms ever on February 12-13, 2014. Catawba County,
NC, was no exception during the two-day snow storm and much of
the county picked up 10-inches of the the beautiful white stuff.

2015 Covenant Church Directory Photos
In October 2015, the families of Covenant Bible Church had their
photos taken for a new church directory. This was a great
opportunity for Curtis to get this photo of his mother with himself
and Carolyn.

2015 Thanksgiving Family Photos
The tradition of
taking family photos at Philip & Leslie's house
on Thanksgiving Day Continues
It had been a number of years since the family had the
opportunity to have group photos taken of themselves with
Curtis' Mom/Willie, so they decided to do Thanksgiving photos at
Curtis & Carolyn's house instead of going to Philip & Leslie's
house for photos.
