Richard Washington (1600 - 1641)         Born: 05 Sep 1600, Sulgrave,Northampton,ENGLAND Died:  08 Jan 1641, Sulgrave,Northampton,ENGLAND                                                                                     Richard Washington was born about 1600 in Sulgrave, Northampton, ENGLAND.  He was the son of Sir Lawrence Washington (b. 1568) and Margaret Butler.   Richard was a freeman of the Clothworkers' Company of London. Their records show that on the "7th July 1614 Richard Washington, son of Lawrence Washington of Wickammond Co., Northamptonshire Gent (apprenticed) to Richard Brent".   Richard married Frances Browne at St. Martin-in-the-Fields 27 April 1627.     Children of Richard Washington and Frances Browne Name Birth Date Death Date Spouse Amy Washington Bapt. 21 Oct 1628     John Washington Bapt. 14 Mar 1631 1661 Mary Flood Blunt Ford     Richard died and was buried 8 January 1641/42; Frances, his widow, married for a second time on 17 Jan 1642 to Ralph Hall.   The will of Ralph Hall, dated 30 July 1658 named his wife Frances and left several legacies to "Mrs. Amy Washington, my wife's daughter". John was not mentioned.
