(Left) This
photo came from the photo collection of Cordie Loftin Wilson,
daughter of William Alexander Loftin, and niece of Washington
Lafayette Loftin. I showed the photo to 100-year-old Lois
Loftin Munday in 2009 who said she "believed" that it was Peal
Loftin, daughter of Washington Lafayette Loftin. |

According to the 1900 Catawba County Census, Fate and Margaret
were living in the Caldwell Township. There were three children
living in the house as well as Margaret's 80 year old Aunt.
Fate's age was 40 and his occupation was listed as a salesman. |
|
The Census shows that Pearl was 17 years old and was born in
January 1883 (but she was actually born Jan 1882 and her age
would have been 18). |
