They had two children: Ladonna M. age 3 years 5 months and Leonard T. age 2 years 2 months. Ida had been born in Ohio, but her father had been born in Germany (and German was his native language) - her mother had been born in Pennsylvania. Both of Fred and Ida's children had been born in Indiana. Fred was working as an engineer for the railroad.
