It appears that Mary Fisher died between 1850 and 1860.  She is not listed on the 1860 Catawba County Census, but Reuben appears to have a new wife, Lavina Fisher, age 50.  Reuben is 61.  Reuben's daughters, Emiline (age 23), Sarah (age 17), and Milly R (age 15) are still living on the family farm.  Thomas (age 20) is listed out of the usual chronological age order and appears at the bottom of the household names along with Henry Brown (age 16).  Reuben's Real Estate value has increased from $800 in 1850 to $2000 in 1860 and he has a Personal Estate Value of $570.  The Census further states that Reuben and Lavina were not able to read or write.
