John Anderson Benfield       Born: 12 Aug 1867, North Carolina Death: 27 Jan 1950, Statesville, Iredell County, NC     Daniel Fink (b. Abt. 1806 - son of Daniel David Fink and Rosina/Rosannah Carriker) married Elizabeth Broyer prior to 1832.  Elizabeth died between 1870 and 1880.     Daniel married for a second time on 07 Sep 1875 - this time to Elizabeth M. Eller Benfield (b. 1828).  This Elizabeth had been married previously to Silas Able Benfield (m. 1849) and had bore Silas six children.       Children of Elizabeth M. Birth records show him to be born 18 Jul 1899 - less than 6 months before Floyd. Additional records show his birthdate as 18 Jul 1889 ** She's listed as Sarella on the 1910 Census.  She's Relialle on her birth certificate and Relia on her death certificate.         The 1930 Census shows John and Sarah (Caroline) living by themselves in the Shiloh Township of Iredell County, NC, except for their 3 year & 8 month old grandson, Eugene.   1930 Iredell County Census   Name Relation Sex Race Age S/M/W Age Md. Head M W 65 M 18   No NC Farmer Farming ----- Caroline Wife F W 66 M 20   No NC None   ----- Eugene Grandson M W 3 8/12 S   No No NC None         Sarah died 16 Feb 1934 as a result of falling off of a "foot-log" into the creek.  She had a compound fracture of the right leg that developed an infection causing her death.  She was 67 years old.  The death certificated gives the names of her parents (Wesley Benfield and Ruby Waugh).     Sarah Caroline Benfield Benfield's Death Certificate           John Anderson Benfield died at the age of 82 on 27 Jan 1950.  His parents are listed as (Silas) Able Benfield and Betty (Elizabeth) Ellis (or Eller).  The informant was his son, C. B. Benfield.  The death certificate lists the cause of death as "chronic myocarditis".  Myocarditis is an inflammation of the heart muscle.
