The 1900 Catawba County Census shows William Augustus and Etta living in the Catawba Precinct with four children: Claud, Avery, Scott and Lee (Leroy).  William Augustus' age is listed as 27.  The Census appears to have William Augustus & Etta's birth year listed a year earlier then their actual birth year - although the children's birthdates (month & year) appear to be correct.

In 1930, the Setzer family was still living in the Catawba Township.  Children from William Augustus' 1st marriage still living on the family farm included Smith, Wilma, Vada and Margaret (possibly Lucille).  Smith is listed as a "Step-Son", but was actually a son according to the 1920 Census.  There was, however, a 26-year-old step-son by the name of Curtiss A. living with the family.  Cora Etta had given William Augustus four additional children: Mary, Willie, Luther and Frances.
