Died: 26 Aug 1942, Catawba County, NCWilliam Augustus Setzer was the second child born to John Wilburn Setzer and Evaline Tabitha Smith. William Augustus was born 25 Mar 1874 in Catawba County.
The 1880 Census shows John Wilburn and Evaline living in the Catawba Township of Catawba County. They had 3 children - Robert, Villa A. (William Augustus), and Lottie L. ranging from ages 4 to 10. John's age is shown to be 10 years older than Evaline.

Smith is listed as a "Step-Son", but was actually a son according to the 1920 Census. There was, however, a 26-year-old step-son by the name of Curtiss A. living with the family. Cora Etta had given William Augustus four additional children: Mary, Willie, Luther and Frances.
