Heinrich Pabst/Bapst /Bobst - Henry Pope

Died:  Abt. 1807, Lincoln County, NC

 
Heinrich Pabst/Bapst/Bobst was born about 1740 in Windsor, Berks Co, PA - the son of Johannes "Hanns" Heinrich Pabst/Bapst.  Heinrich and his brother, Hans George Pabst, came to North Carolina around 1763. 
 
Around 1765, Heinrich adopted the American name "Henry Pope". According to NC Archive records, Henry Pope (Heinrich Pabst) was issued 350 acres in Mecklenburg County, NC (later Rowan, Burke, Lincoln and now Catawba County) on 23 Jun 1765 and granted the same on 30 Oct 1765.  The land was located on both sides of Elk Creek and was surveyed 22 Jun 1765 by F. William Tims.
 
Rowan County Deed Book 8, p. 335, Heinrich bought 90.5 acres on Anthony's Branch of Clark's Creek (flowing into the South Fork of Catawba River) from Bostian & Elizabeth Cline on 22 Jul 1775. 
 
Lincoln County Deed Book, p. 335, Land Grant No. 907 to Henry Pope (Heinrich Pabst) dated 07 Aug 1787, 240 acres at a rate of 50 shillings per 100, on both sides of Lyles Creek joining John Sigmon, Johan Theobold "Dewalt" Hunsucker, Melchoir Hefner and William Whittenburgh.
 
Henry/Heinrich sold 6 acres for the sum of 10 pounds on 25 Nov 1798 to St. John's Lutheran Church in Conover, NC.
 
 
 
Heinrich married Elizabeth Kline after 17260. 
 
Heinrich and Elizabeth had at least eight children.
