Barbara Ann Miller was born between 1847 and 1851 in NC to Jacob Miller.  She was the next-to-last of eleven children.

It's unclear who Barbara's mother was.  According to the 1850 Census, it appears to be Elizabeth Fulbright, but Barbara's death certificate lists her mother as Lizzy Woodring (possibly Elizabeth).

The 1850 Iredell County Census lists her age as 3, indicating that she was born about 1847.  Her headstone at Sharon Lutheran Church in Iredell County, NC, lists her birth date as 14 Nov 1851.

According to an email I received from Carole Dodenhoff on 18 Nov 2010, Barbara had 5 sons - including  John G. (John Gaston Miller).  Carole also informed me that family tradition (a letter from a great aunt) said that Barbara had married a Native American and therefore the father was unnamed as the union was not recognized.

Nancy Ametta Miller had married Emanuel Goble.  Because of his premature death, she and her 9-year-old daughter, Elizabeth, were living with her parents.

Son Henry Adolphus Miller and his wife Harriet were living nearby.  They had 7 children still living with them.  Eldest daughter Martha is not listed, indicating that she had probably married.

Barbara died 12 Jan 1927 in Iredell County, NC, as a result of "cerebral paralysis".
