Died: 25 Mar 1935, Troutman, Iredell Co, NCSarah Jane Loftin was the sixth child born to Edmund Loftin (b.1812) and Mary Reynolds. Edmund was first married to Dovey Newman and later to Mary Reynolds after her death. Sarah Jane was born 17 Oct 1867 in Iredell County, NC.
The 1870 Census shows Edmund, age 58, married to Mary Reynolds, age 35, and living in the Fallstown Township of Iredell County. Edmund's four older children had moved away from the family farm - apparently married. Three younger children were listed on the census: Thomas (Smith), age 6, Sarah Jane, age 3, and Dovey A., age 1. 1870 Iredell County Census - Fallstown Township
