What a great way to cool off during the summer months!

Some of the family animals were used to work the fields,
but there were opportunities for a little fun, too

Paul & Louise spent lots of time outside with the family dogs

Paul enlisted in the U.S. Army on 27 Jun 1945 in Fort Bragg, North Carolina.  His enlistment was for the duration of the war (World War II) plus six months.  His enlistment shows that he had 4 years of high school education.

On August 6, 1945, the U.S. dropped a nuclear weapon dubbed Little Boy on Hiroshima, destroying the city. On August 9, we dropped the second atomic bomb, dubbed Fat Man, on the port city of Nagasaki.

The war ended on 25 Aug 1945 when the Japanese surrendered.
