Wayne Morrow Loftin was born 22 Sep 1930 in Catawba County, North Carolina.  He was the second child of Roy Henry Loftin and Sarah Mae Morrow

Military Service
 
Wayne enlisted in the US Navy on 18 Aug 1948 in Columbia, SC.  He was 17 years old at the time of his enlistment.  He was discharged in 1952.

Wayne's brother, Larry, also served in the US Navy. Larry enlisted in 1944, at the age of 17, in Asheville, NC, serving in the later part of WWII.

After serving four years in the US Navy, Wayne was discharged in 1952.  He married Sue Ellen Cooke on 21 Jun 1953.  She was the daughter of Aldie and Lillie Cooke.  The couple were married at Bethel Methodist Church in Canton, NC.  L. B. Green was the minister.

Wayne enjoyed the "outdoors" and loved to camp, fish and hunt.

Everybody loved his tomatoes and sister, Yvonne, said he frequently talked about how big they were - "one slice of tomato would cover a slice of bread"

Wayne Morrow Loftin passed away on Wednesday 27 May 2015 at the age of 84, following a stroke several months previously.  He was living in LaPorte, Texas at the time of his death.
 
 
 
OBITUARY
 
     Wayne Morrow Loftin passed away on May 27, 2015 in Webster, Texas at the age of 84.  He was born in Catawba County, North Carolina of September 22, 1930 to the union of Roy Henry Loftin and Mae Morrow Loftin, who precedes him in death.
     He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Sue Cooke Loftin: siblings, Larry Henry Loftin and Yvonne Loftin Bryson; children, Michael Wayne Loftin, Karen Sue Loftin-Mayfield and Linda Dianne Kendrick-Pankonien; grandchildren, Jean M. Loftin, Clinton M. Loftin, Tara L. Bane, Lindsey P. Kendrick and Katie A. Kendrick; great grandchildren, Marina I. Barker, Kylee R. Loftin, Camryn M. Loftin, Graycen L. Goodroe, Zayden T. Williams, Kaydence M. Narro, Drake C. Narro and Jake W. Goodroe; as well as numerous other extended family members and friends.
     The family will receive frinends for visitation at Grand View Funeral Home on Monday, June 1, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.  Funeral Services will take place on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at 3:00 P.m. in the chapel of Grand View Funeral Home, with interment to follow in the Grand View Memorial Park.
     In Lieu of usual remembrances, donations in memory of Wayne Loftin may be made to the First United Methodist Church of LaPorte, Texas. 
 
 
 
Wayne's wife, Sue Cooke Loftin, passed away on 15 Feb 2018 in Texas.
