The following document shows the Trans World Airlines Crew List,
of which Worthington Seese (age 34) was a part. The
airplane was flying from Stephenville, Newfoundland, to
LaGuardia Airport, New York, New York, on 29 Jul 1944. The
Pilot was William White, the Co-Pilot Fredrick Mills, the
Navigator Salvatore Cremo, The Radio Operator Frank UNKNOWN, the
Flight Engineer William Myers, and the "F.T.C." Bruno UNKNOWN.
Worthy's crew title was "O" - but unfortunately I haven't
figured out that position yet. |
|
NOTES from Bradley Dylan Seese |
My Grandfather Worthington Seese Sr. loved to fly. When he
got older he developed a heart condition that kept him from
flying so my grandmother (Myrtle May Seese) got her pilot's
license so they could go up together. Once up in the air,
she would let him pilot the airplane. |

Prior to 1952, Worthy and Myrtle relocated from Bucks County,
Pennsylvania, to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. |
|
NOTES from Bradley Dylan Seese: |
My Grandfather's brother, Ed Seese, had gone to Florida to lay
the telephone line on US No. 1, the main highway going into
Florida. He called my grandfather and told him that there
was good property there and a good opportunity to make some
money. Ed borrowed against his life insurance policy (for a
better rate then he could have gotten at the bank) and they
started buying up property. They built several hotels in
the Fort Lauderdale, Florida, area, including: The Worthington,
Mark 2100 and Sand Castles. |

Worthy and Myrtle had no children and decided to adopt a son.
The Seeses started "checking" 9-year-old Guy Clark Morrison
out of a Florida orphanage on weekends. Guy was born "Guy
Clark" in Syracuse, New York of UNKNOWN parentage. He had
been previously adopted by William Evert Morrison and his wife
Grayce when he was a baby but after their divorce, in 1951, Guy
went back into a Florida orphanage. Guy was 11, almost 12,
before his second adoption by Worhty and Myrtle Seese.
During the second adoption process, Guy told the judge that he
wanted his adopted daddy's name, so it legally became
Worthington Frederick Seese, Jr. |
