William E. Hart was the second child born to Eber Hart Jr. (1788 - 1873) and Elizabeth "Betsie" Howe (1793 - 1867).  William was born 10 Dec 1814 in Otsego County, New York.
 
 
William married Judith Ann Stone on 24 Jun 1840.  Judith was born 22 Jun 1822 in Royalton, Niagara County, New York to Flavel Stone (1789 - 1863) and Sabrina Cone (1800 - 1862).
 
William's marriage to Judith produced at least six children: Adeline Melissa, Mandaville Alanson, Eber D, Caroline Elizabeth, Elva F and Eunice Alinda.

The 1860 Census shows Willliam and Judith Hart living in Walton, Eaton County, Michigan.  He is 44 and she is 38.  William is still a farmer and the value of his Real Estate has increased to $2500 and his Personal Estate is valued at $350.  All six of their children are listed on this 1860 Census: Adaline M (age 18), Alanson M. (age 16), Eber D (age 14), Caroline E. (age 11), Elva F. (age 5) and Eunice A. (age 7 months).
 
William's brother John A. Hart (1818-1890) and his family are living nearby.  The family includes John's wife, Eliza Jane Wood (age 27), children Emma Jane (age 7), George W. (age 5), Francis A. (age 3), James A. (age 1) and Eliza Jane's father, George Wood (age 65).

The 1870 Census shows William and Judith still living in Walton, Eaton County, Michigan.  His age is listed as 56 and Judith as 48.  The value of his Real Estate has increased to $10,000 and his Personal Estate is valued at $1050.  Only three children are still living on the family farm: Eber (age 24), Elvey/Elva (age 15) and Eunice (age 10).  There was also a 43 year old teacher named Arcelia Stone living with the family - Judith's sister (Pentha Arelia Stone).

William's beloved with Judith Ann Stone Hart died 16 Jan 1893 in Eaton County, Michigan.
 
 
The 1900 Census shows William Hart still living in Walton Township, Eaton County, Michigan and he is listed as being 85 years old.  The Census lists his birth month and year as Dec 1814.  It also shows that William's parents were both born in New York when they were actually born in Rhode Island.
 
William's youngest daughter, Eunice, married George W. Andrews about 1890 and George is now listed  as being the Head of the family.  He is 33 and Eunice is 36.  The Census shows that Eunice had given birth to a child but the child was no longer living.
