MAGIC KINGDOM is a theme park at Walt
Disney World Resort in Bay Lake, Florida, near Orlando.
Its design is dedicated to fairy tales and Disney characters.
The park is represented by Cinderella Castle,
inspired by the fairy tale castle seen in the 1950 film. In 2019
the park hosted almost 21 million visitors, making it the most
visited theme part in the world for the thirteenth consecutive
year and the most visited theme park in North American for at
least the past nineteen years. |

ENTRANCE |
|
|
Each day, one park opened early for guests who were staying at
one of the Disney resorts. It was a great opportunity to grab a
ride on one of the attractions that typically had a very long
line. It was also a great time to take photos with fewer guests
in the shots.
Disney has also created FastPass, a system
to speed up customer access to certain attractions and amenities
at resorts and them parks. First introduced in late 1999, the
system allows guests to avoid long lines at certain attractions,
freeing them to partake of other attractions during their wait.
The system gives guests a paper ticket with a designated time,
instructing them when they should arrive. Then they take the
FastPass line and move ahead of people in the longer lines. It
was great. |

MAIN STREET, U.S.A. |
|
|
MAIN STREET, U.S.A. is the first thing you see
when you enter Magic Kingdom. It features stylistic influences
from around the country. Main Street is lined with shops selling
merchandise and food. The decor is early 20th century small-town
America, inspired by Walt Disney's childood. |

CINDERELLA CASTLE |
|
|
CINDERELLA CASTLE is Cinderella's fairytale castle and the
center of Magic Kingdom in Disney World. The castle was inspired
by a variety of real and fictional palaces. There are 27 towers
on the castle and it is surrounded by a moat. In February 2020,
Disney announced that the castle would be getting dark
blue roofs, a slight rose pink color, and have many gold trim
accents on the castle, along with darker stone. |

LIBERTY SQUARE |
|
|
LIBERTY SQUARE is one of six "themed lands" and is exclusive to
the Magic Kingdom. Themed after colonial America, replicas of
both the Liberty Bell and Liberty Tree can be seen here. Liberty
Square has a long waterfront on the Rivers of America and the
Liberty Belle Riverboat steam paddleboat departs from a landing
here. |

LIBERTY SQUARE - THE HALL
OF PRESIDENTS |

THE HALL OF PRESIDENTS is an attraction located in Liberty
Square at the Magic Kingdom. The attraction is a multi-media
presentation and stage show featuring Audio-Animatronic figures
of all the men who have served as President of the United
States. |

1. FRONTIERLAND |
|
|
FRONTIERLAND is one of the "themed lands" at Disney World.
Themed to the American Frontier of the 19th century,
Frontierland is home to cowboys, pioneers, saloons and gold
rushes. |

|
FRONTIERLAND - SPLASH
MOUNTAIN |
|
|
SPLASH MOUNTAIN is a log ride at Magic Kingdom that is based on
the animated 1946 Disney film, "Song of the South". It is
considered to be part of Frontierland. The ride begins with a
peaceful outdoor float-through that leads to an indoor dark
ride, with a climactic steep drop into the "briar Patch"
followed by an indoor finale. The drop is 52 feet. In 2020, it
was announced that the it would be replaced with a theme based
on the 2009 film, "The Princess and the Frog". |

With age, we're not usually fans of roller coaster
rides, but Carolyn & I decided to brave this one. We had our
ponchos with us to use, but we still got wet. It was nice,
however, on this warm November day. |

2. ADVENTURELAND |
|
|
ADVENTURELAND is one of the "themed lands" at Disney World.
Adventureland provides a 1950s view of exotic adventure. Tribal
performance masks, conga drums, exotic animal statues and
architecture of Pacific influence make for a confined area
wherein industry and technology take a back seat to uncharted
nature. |

ADVENTURELAND - SWISS
FAMILY TREEHOUSE |
|
|
SWISS FAMILY TREEHOUSE is a walk-through attraction that is
centered on a giant treehouse where everyone can hear and see
various scenes based on the Disney film "Swiss Family Robinson".
When the Magic Kingdom opened at Disney World in 1971, the Swiss
Family Treehouse was one of the original attractions of
Adventure. The tree, while intended to look real, is actually
made up of steel, concrete and stucco, stretching 60 fee tall
and 90 feet wide. |

ADVENTURELAND - JUNGLE
CRUISE |
|
|
The JUNGLE CRUISE is a river-boat attraction located in
Adventureland at Magic Kingdom. The attraction simulates a
riverboat cruise down several major rivers of Asia, Africa and
South America. Park guests board replica tramp steamers from a
1930s British explorers' lodge and are taken on a voyage past
many different Audio-Animatronic jungle animals. The tour is led
by a live Disney Cast Member. |

ADVENTURELAND - PIRATES OF
THE CARIBBEAN |
|
|
PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN is a dark ride in Adventureland at
Magic Kingdom. The ride tells the story of a band of pirates in
the West Indies islands around the Caribbean Sea in the 17th and
18th centuries with the saga of their voyages, troubles and
exploits. The ride gave rise to the song "Yo Ho". |

3. FANTASYLAND |
|
|
In the words of Walt Disney: "FANTASYLAND is
dedicated to the young at heart and to those who believe that
when you wish upon a star, your dreams come true". Attractions
include It's a Small World, Peter Pan's Flight, The Many
Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, and Mad Tea Party. I took no
photos at Fantasyland during this trip so this one is from 1996. |

4. TOMORROWLAND |
|
|
TOMORROWLAND is set in an intergalactic city, a
concept of the future as seen from aroun the 1950s: rockets,
UFOs and robots, etc. In the words of Walt Disney, "Tomorrow can
be a wonderful age. Our scientists today are opening the door of
the Space Age to achievements that will benefit our children and
generations to come. The Tomorrowland attractions have been
designed to give you an opportunity to participat in adventures
that are a living blueprint of our future." Classic attractions
include Space Mountain (which I only rode once - years ago),
Carousel of Progress, Astro Orbiter, Tomorrowland Transit
Authority PeopleMover and the Tomorrowland Speedway. |

MORE |
|
|
There is always more to see at Disney World. More to see, more
to eat, more to do, more photos, but I didn't do as many photos
on this trip as I have in the past. If you've never been to
Disney World, you should try to go. It's the most magical place
in the world. It is better, however, when you are younger. |
