Our Last
Trip to Disney World |
|
|
 |
Our last trip to Disney World was in Nov 2015. Our previous
trips had been in March and October. We knew we didn't want to
go in the summer and figured that November would be perfect
weather. But unfortunately, we were having a "heat wave" on the
east coast and even though it was November, Disney World was
miserably hot. |

DIXIE LANDINGS |
|
|
Disney's Port Orleans Resort Riversade was designed to reflect
the antebellum south along the Mississippi River. The resort
opened in 02 Feb 1992 as DISNEY'S DIXIE LANDINGS RESORT,
initially with rooms located in its Alligator Bayou section.
Shortly afterwards the Magnolia Bend section was opened. We
stayed in the Alligator Bayou section of Disie Landing.
Alligator Bayou has 1,024 guest rooms in 16 buildings styled as
rustic, weathered lodges, with 64 rooms per lodge. |

Arriving back at our resort around 2:00 p.m. daily,
Carolyn would take a nap and I'd head off to the pool. There
was a small, and more private pool at Alligator Bayou where we
were lodging and I loved it. With only a few guests using it,
and sometimes no one at all, it became a daily location
where I relaxed when I got back to the resort and read on my
Kindle. Carolyn and I even met a lady who wrote historical
romantic fiction one day while sitting by this pool. Does
vacation get more perfect than this? |

The Resorts as Disney World are as beautiful as the
various parks |

The back side of Dixie Landings was as beautiful at the
front was. The river mill housed our primary location for meals. |

There were several eating locations at Dixie Landings
Riverside Mill Food Court offered more options and was our
favorite - It was also less expensive |

Boatwright's Dining Hall was a casual table service
restaurant located in Dixie Landings Riverside Resort This
eating locaton only served dinner and was more expensive |

Each Disney Resort has a bus stop where you can catch a
bus and go to the various Disney parks and locations The best
thing about it, there's no charge and buses come about every 15
minutes |
