Alexandria   Born: 2002, Hickory, NC     2007         April 2007     Pesach/Passover   The Seese Family joined Curtis & Carolyn on Saturday, 07 April 2007, as Beit Yeshua celebrated the Biblical Feast of Pesach/Passover.   Leviticus 23:4-7 4 These are the feasts of the LORD, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons. 5 In the fourteenth day of the first month (Abib or Nisan - March or April) at even (evening) is the LORD's Passover. 6 And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the Feast of Unleavened Bread unto the LORD: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread. 7 In the first day ye shall have an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein.     2007 was the first year that Beit Yeshua hosted their annual Pesach Seder in the Family Life Center at Covenant Bible Church in Lincolnton, NC. With 100 in attendance, this was the largest group thus far for the annual event for Beit Yeshua.   Low and Regular seating was available   Savanna & Alexandria's paternal grandfather, Curtis Loftin, co-leads Beit Yeshua as well as the Pesach Seder   Carolyn & Curtis Loftin   Curtis chats with Brad, Beth and the girls as they arrive   Curtis always leads the group in a time of Israeli Folk Dance during praise & worship at the beginning of the service     One of my favorite photos shows Alexandria outside of the adult circle mimicking the steps   Eventually both Savanna and Alexandria were dancing      Items for the Seder meal include: grape juice, matzah (unleavened bread), parsley, a roasted egg, the shankbone of a lamb, horseradish (and a horseradish root), as well as charoset (a sweet mixture of chopped apples, nuts, cinnamon and grape juice).     Using the Haggadah (the text recited at the Seder on the first night of the Passover, including a narrative of the Exodus) guests are invited to drink  from the first of four cups of grape juice   The middle matzah is removed from the matzahtash, broken and shared Half of the middle piece is wrapped in a white cloth and hidden only to be redeemed later   Three-Fourths of the way through the Seder, everyone stops to enjoy the covered-dish meal A kosher Passover excludes any food item with leavening/yeast   The Seese family enjoys the meal together         Savanna sitting with Nonni/Carolyn and Lynda Williams   After an hour for the meal, the Seder continues to its conclusion (Brad, Beth & Ali - top center left)     A sleepy little girl ready to go home       Easter Dresses   After celebrating the Feast of Passover on Saturday night with Beit Yeshua at Covenant, the Seese family dressed up in their best to go and celebrate the Resurrection of Yeshua Ha'Mashiach (Jesus the Messiah) on Sunday, 8 April 2007.  After church and eating lunch in Lincolnton, the Seeses went over to Curtis & Carolyn's house.  Savanna was 6 and Alexandria was 4 years old.   Poppi always had his camera ready to snap new photos of the girls   Poppi also took advantage of the Spring flowers by incorporating them in his photos, too   These photos of the girls in their pink Easter dresses and hats were favorites for sure   It also looks like Poppi might have been freezing at least one little girl in order to get his photos         Savanna's 7th Birthday Party   On 28 April 2007 the Seese family planned a Birthday Party for Savanna's 7th birthday at Skateland in Hickory, NC.  Jeff, Denise, Karlie & Lyndsy Neigel were there - as well as JoNanna (JoAnn) Seese, Poppi, Nonni and Great Granny Willie - as well as other friends and family members   Parents start getting skates for the kids   Mom: "Here, Savanna.  These are your size."     Mom helps 4-year-old Alexandria with her skates     The adults didn't skate - they just watched       Time to Skate!     Savanna, Alexandria and Karlie are all ready to skate   Alexandria was the first one on the skating floor   She might have had a little help from the wall in order to stand up   Savanna and Karlie do pretty good on their skates   Taking a break   Time to Eat   Something to drink - and some ice cream - but what do we get to eat?     PIZZA - PIZZA - PIZZA!       Time for Presents!   When you're 7 years old - opening the cards and presents is the BEST part of a birthday     The funny shaped box was a kite from Mom & Dad   Poppi and Nonni always got something for Ali, too, just so she wouldn't feel left out   ... and you always knew that for both of the girls it was gonna be clothes     To see the rest of the photos from Savanna's 7th birthday party - CLICK HERE         May 2007     Miss Krista's Dance Class   These photos taken from 03 May 2007 show the girls in Miss Krista's dance class preparing for their dance recital and competition that will be coming up in just a week.   Alexandria poses with a friend     Another new costume that needs some alterations           Dance Recital   On 10 May 2007, Savanna & Alexandria had their dance recital in Lenoir, NC. Savanna was 7 and Ali was 4 at the time.   Alexandria   The little dancers watch Miss Krista off stage for dance cues     There's no doubt that Ali had the best form in this ballet number     ... and she never takes her eyes off of Miss Krista   There was also a Jazz Number for the toddlers with taps         Alexandria   Savanna and the older girls perform their Jazz/Tap Number   Savanna's group performs their Ballet Number - straight arms & beautiful form     To See Savanna's Dance Recital Photos - CLICK HERE       Dance Photos by Poppi   On Saturday, 26 May 2007, Poppi took some dance photos of Savanna & Alexandria in their dance costumes when they were over at his house.   SAVANNA  &  ALEXANDRIA           ALEXANDRIA   Jazz/Tap Costume       Ballet Costume     SAVANNA   Jazz/Tap Costume   Ballet Costume     Cheerleader Costume   Jazz Costume         Cook Out at Uncle Philip's House   On 26 May 2007, Uncle Philip & Aunt Leslie (Loftin) invited the Loftins, Seeses and Robinsons over to their house for a cook-out.  There were grilled hotdogs and hamburgers, potato salad, cole slaw and chili, as well as chip and even dessert.   Uncle Philip snaps a photo from his porch while Poppi is snapping one from the back Everyone else is eating   After the meal, the adults sat around and chatted (Left to Right) "Great-Granny" Willie Goble Loftin, "Nonni" Carolyn Weeks Loftin, "Mom" Beth Loftin Seese, "Dad" Brad Seese, Jason & Kristi Robinson Buff, Myra Caldwell Robinson, "Uncle" Philip Loftin, Mike Robinson and "Aunt" Leslie Robinson Loftin   The girls enjoy their food           Studio Dance Photos   Since Savanna and Alexandria were already at his house, Uncle Philip offered to take some dance photos of the girls.   ALEXANDRIA             SAVANNA        To See Savanna's Studio Photos - CLICK HERE       Day Care Spring Photos   Spring photos of Alexandria from Woodlawn Baptist Church Day Care in Conover, NC           Day Care Graduation   Ali graduated from Day Care in the Spring of 2007 and was ready to start public school in the Fall.               September 2007     Uncle Gardner's Wedding   In September 2007, Uncle Gardner Seese married Kristen Raby.  Brad, Beth, Savanna & Alexandria were there to participate in and celebrate their marriage.   Alexandria, Beth, Brad & Savanna         September 2007     Sukkot/The Feast of Tabernacles   On 28 September 2007, the Seese family joined Curtis & Carolyn Loftin as Beit Yeshua celebrated the Festival of Sukkot (The Feast of Tabernacles or Booths) at Doug & Lynda Williams' home in Lincolnton, NC.   Leviticus 23 39 Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month (Tishri on the Jewish Calendar - September or October), when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a Feast unto the LORD seven days: on the first day shall be a Sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a Sabbath.  41 And ye shall keep it a feast unto the LORD seven days in the year.  It shall be a statute forever in your generations: ye shall celebrate it in the seventh month.  42 Ye shall dwell in booths seven days   Curtis joins other members of Beit Yeshua on 23 September to construct the sukka   The branches of colorful trees and scrubs adorn the top of the sukka     The inside of this particular sukka was decorated with wild flowers, colorful paper chains and homemade Star-of-Davids   Leviticus 23 40 And ye shall take you on the first day the boughs of goodly trees, branches of palm trees, and the boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice before the LORD your God seven days.     Curtis explains the significance of the lulav and etrog     Brad smells the etrog (a citron similar to a lemon) as Curtis passes it around   Alexandria goes up to join the others during a time of praise & worship   Curtis explains the significance of Simcha Torah ("Rejoicing in the Torah/Scriptures) and invites others to bring their Bibles and "rejoice" before the LORD         As the adults continue to dance, the children are encouraged to take up the flags and banners during praise and worship     At the end of the evening everyone participated in a time of food and fellowship   The Seese family enjoys the good food       Savanna eats in the sukka with some of the other children who were her age         Sukkot with the Grandparents   Brad, Beth and the girls always enjoy eating in Poppi & Nonni's sukkah.  Poppi had the family sukkaha  little closer to the house in 2007.
