Jonah - It's a Whale of a Tale

Alexandria loved to sing and on 06 May 2012 she participated in the Covenant Children's Church presentation of, "Jonah - It's A Whale of a Tale" - the story of Jonah and the Whale.

Beach Trip

The Seese & Loftin families did not do a joint trip to Myrtle Beach in 2012, but the Seese family did manage to get down there for a few days.

Helping Build Poppi & Nonni's Sukkah

Ali & Savanna's maternal grandparents, Curtis & Carolyn Loftin, observe the Biblical Festivals as well as many of the Christian ones.  Sukkot has been a family favorite ever since Beth and Philip were both children.  In 2012, Brad, Savanna and Ali help Poppi & Nonni (Curtis & Carolyn) with the construction of the family "sukkah" or "booth".  During the 7-day festival, Curtis & Carolyn ate many of their meals outside in the sukkah.  It's always a joy when they get to share it with their children and grandchildren.

The sukkah should have at least 3 walls

The top of the sukkah is covered with branches from a variety of different trees
Ali & Brad help Poppi (Curtis) as he adds the branches to the top  - but you should still see the sky

Ali helps by adding some Poplar tree branches

Poppi (Curtis) adds some pine tree braches as well as some braches from an Oak tree
and even some branches from a Pin Oak tree and a Crepe Myrtle

Video # 1 - CLICK HERE or Below - Ali helps Poppi add the branches

Video # 2 - CLICK HERE or Below - Ali & Savanna help with some decorations

A table and some chairs are placed inside of the sukkah.  Christmas lights are added to the top so that they can have light for evening meals.  The inside of the sukkah should also be decorated.

Ali & Savanna pose in front of the "nearly-completed" sukkah

One of the best thing about Sukkot
is being able to share a meal with family and friends in the sukkah

OCTOBER 2012

Sukkot - The Feast of Booths/Tabernacles

As stated previously, the Biblical Feast of Sukkot is a 7-day holiday.  Sukkot is considered by Jewish people to be the most festive and joyous of all the Biblical Feasts.  Those of us know know Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus the Messiah) see in the Feast of Sukkot a picture of the 1000-Year-Reign of Messiah Yeshua when he returns to Tabernacle with His people - those who love Him and have received Him into their hearts and lives.

The Loftin and Seese Families got together on 13 October 2012 for a cookout
and to enjoy Curtis & Carolyn's sukkah during the Feast of Sukkot

Unfortunately the Loftin's sukkah wasn't quite large enough for 10 people
Philip, Leslie, Kayli, Savanna & Ali ate in the sukkah
while Brad, Beth, Granny (Willie), Nonni (Caroly) and Poppi (Curtis) ate outside

Christmas Day 2012

Every year the Loftins (Curtis & Carolyn, Philip & Leslie with Kayli) and the Seeses (Brad, Beth, Savanna & Alexandria) get together at Curtis & Carolyn's house for Christmas Day.  Lunch is always planned for 11:30 a.m.

The tables in the kitchen are always decorated with Curtis & Carolyn's Christmas China,
glasses and tablecloths.

Curtis & Carolyn typically stay away from traditional Christmas foods like Turkey and Baked Ham

For 2012 the menu included Honey-BBQ Chicken Wings, Beef Bean & Cornbread Casseroll, Broccolli Pie, Green Beans, Mashed Potatoes, Potato Salad, Stuffing,
Deviled Eggs, Biscuits and Gravy

There was Diet Coke as well as Poppi & Nonni's Spearmint Tea, Million Dollar Pie,
Pumpkin Roll as well as a Cream-Cheese Dessert

Dedication

Ali, I love you so very much.  Every photo that I've added to this page made me smile - and reminded me just how special you are.  You're kind, sweet and gentle.  May you always follow after the ways of the LORD and may you grow up to serve Yeshua/Jesus with zeal and passion.  Only "true" happiness comes from Him.  Love you, Poppi.
