The Goble family eventually moved to South Carolina.
Daniel David & Sarah's second child, Daniel Goble III, was born
19 Jul 1698. |
|
Daniel David purchased land in Goose Creek, Berkeley, SC (500
acres) on 20 Mar 1699. On 23 Dec 1699 he purchased an
additional 300 acres. |
|
The local Yamasee Indians went on the war path killing 190
colonists. The colonist formed a militia and counter
attacked, but they were greatly outnumbered. There were
8000 Indians but only 1500 men in the entire colony that were
able to fight. Indians continued to attach - killing men
and children and enslaving women. The Indians were
eventually driven back by the Goose Creek Militia, but every
farm and plantation lay in ruins and prices for goods in town
shot up drastically. |
|
Twenty five years earlier, Daniel David Gobel had fled the New
England colonies and the numerous Indian attacks that had killed
family members, but now he and Sarah found themselves in similar
circumstances in South Carolina. |

After Sarah's death, Daniel David Goble started selling his
South Carolina property - selling 650 acres on Cooper River, SC,
on 19 Mar 1718. |
|
Daniel David married for a second time to Abigail (Unknown).
He relocated his family to Morris County, New Jersey and settled
just outside of Morristown. It was also around this time
that he changed the family religion from Puritan to Baptist. |
|
|
Daniel David Goble died 1733 in Morris County, Morristown, New
Jersey, without a will. John Blanchard was assigned to
administer the personal inventory of Daniel's estate including
bonds due from Daniel and his two sons Daniel and Robert. |
