Barbara Bobst was born about 1780 in NC. She was the daughter of Heinrich Pabst (also known as Henry Pope) and Elizabeth Kline. Barbara married John Miller/Muller on 09 Feb 1796 in Rowan County, NC. John was the son of Michael Miller and Nancy Ann Tansey. Barbara and John purchased property in Lincoln County (now Catawba) on 13 Nov 1810. Barbara and John had at least seven children.
