William Brown Hocutt's first cousin. |

At his death, his children were left as orphans, and they were
put under the guardianship of different individuals.
According to county records, Matthew Wilder was guardian for
Henderson (also called "Hinson"), Willey and Lucretia in 1830;
Joel Ellington was guardian for Sally and Sarah in 1830 and
1831; and Benjamin Hocutt was guardian for Zachariah/Zachary in
