Nelson Monroe Sherrill     Born: Feb 1842 Died:  After 1920     Nelson Monroe Sherrill was the fourth child born to N.W. and Caroline S. Sherrill.  Nelson had at least four seven siblings. " 4 F       Lincoln Co, NC       On 26 April 1861, Nelson enlisted in the Confederate Army, in the 1st Regiment, Company K, North Carolina Infantry for a period of 6 months.  He finished this term of service on 12 Apr 1861 and reenlisted on 13 Mar 1862 in the NC 23rd.  He was wounded on 06 Jul 1863 in Richmond , VA, and returned to duty on 25 Aug 1863 where he was present through Dec 1864.  Nelson survived the Civil War and married Rebecca E.
