Hans Jacob Motz was born about 1704 in Lampertsloch, Bas-Rhin, Alsace, FRANCE. He was the son of Hans Diebolt Motz and Anna Catharina Bubel.
Hans Jacob Motz was married, perhaps twice. Some records indicate his wife's names were Susanna Cuntz and Anna Barbara Schwartz. Hans Jacob Motz had a daughter, Maria Catherine Motz, but there seem to be some discrepancies to her birth date and location. Some records says she was born in Hessen, Germany in 1734. Others say she was born in Lampertsloch, Bas-Rhin, Alsace, France, in 1746. Maria Catherine Motz married Johannes Wilhelm Herman on 27 Dec 1757. On 16 Oct 1766 Hans Jacob Motz, along with his son-in-law Johannes Wilhelm Herman and their families, boarded the Ship Palladium with Ship Master Richard Hunter, and sailed for America, where they landed in the port at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
