The Rankin Family   Name Origin: Scottish   (Left) Scottish Coat of Arms   The Dalriadan clans of ancient Scotland spawned the ancestors of the Rankin family.  Their name comes from the personal name Randolph, with the addition of the diminutive suffin -kin.
