After Ida's death on 25 Dec 1964, her
granddaughter, Peggy Loftin Brotherton, decided it would be
wonderful to continue the yearly family get-together and thus
the Loftin Family Reunion (as we know it today) was born. |
Since most of the Loftin's had tents at the Balls Creek
Campground, the Reunion was held there for many years - beside
of the Arbor. |
For convenience, the Reunion was eventually
moved to Center Methodist Church - the home church of several of
the Loftin ancestors. |

An additional move occurred when the Loftin Reunion was moved to
Catawba Methodist Church. |

The Loftin family gathered for the yearly reunion on Sunday, May
18th, 2008, at the Catawba Methodist Church. The crowd was
larger than usual and everyone enjoyed chatting and reminiscing
about the past. The food was outstanding and many folks
brought photos to share. |

Barry Brotherton served as President of the
Loftin Family Reunion Committee and did a wonderful job
organizing the activities of the afternoon. |
