"Baby Girl" Goble |
Born: 09 Jan 1915, Alexander County, NC Died:
18 Apr 1915, Alexander County, NC |
Martin Luther Goble and
Beulah Vernesta Johnson's fourth child was "Baby Girl"
Goble. She was probably named, but there is no record or
recollection of that name by living siblings (Willie, Helen or
Elgevia) in 2008. |

Birth Certificate of "Baby Girl" Goble |
"Baby Girl" was born 09 Jan 1915 in Alexander County, NC,
Miller's Township. Marin was 26 and Beulah was 27.
Martin's occupation was listed as a farmer and Beulah's
occupation was listed as a housewife. "Baby Girl" was
delivered by midwife Sarah J. Fulbright. Sarah was a
cousin to Martin and her daughter, Sallie, had drowned with
Martin's sister,
Eliza Jane, while crossing the Catawba River on 28 Apr 1907.
"Baby Girl" was born "alive" at 8 A.M. The birth was filed
on 15 Jan 1915. |

As with all research and records, there are frequently
discrepancies. A 06 Mar 2000 listing of Goble's born in
Alexander County shows "Baby Girl's" birth as 01/09/1914,
instead of 1915. Beulah Vernesta Johnson's name was also
misspelled as Bulah Vernerd Johnson. The 1915 Birth
Certificate is more than likely the correct document. |

"Baby Girl" died 18 Apr 1915. She is
buried at Sharon Lutheran Church in Iredell County, NC.
Only a rock was used to mark her grave at the time. |
